2/ I tried plugging in my digital camera (Cannon S45). Everything goes
fine,
Digikam could 'discover' my camera, but then when Digikam tries to
'connect'
to the camera, and it says it 'failed to connect to the camera'.
/var/log/messages shows during the 'plugin till unplug' time shows the
following:

power: org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.UnknownError - An Error occurred. The
Error message is: #012 Could not open file

3/ Hibernate shuts the system down, but it would not start up again when I
pushed the power button,
It looked like it did something, but the screen didn't come back. (I'm not
sure if the backlight came on.)
(Sorry, I don't have any more diagnostics at this time.)
