Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempting to kill init!

                                     ---------------------------------

This is what I get rebooting the machine after a  - x86_64 - install attempt.
This was Fedora7.9-x86_64.
Same thing happens with Fedora7-x86_64.

Tried rescue - and all seems to be intact.   So, what to do ??????

                                     --------------------------------

Hardware: 2 x AMD  Turion  64

It does run Fedora core 6 x86_64 - but turns insane after package updates over
the net.

Fedora7_i386 - it will run this, but  receiving  packages  give the  same
results  as  told  about  above.

It does run OpenSuse10.2 - x86_64

Left lspci hardware list,  and more details a week ago on laptop-fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx,  but it did seem like I was the only member ??
There is no help or support to be found, seems to be the case.
