I can't see any anouncement about this kernel (2.6.22.5-71.fc7), but I tested it and can report that suspend does not work even with hpet=disable (suspend to Disk/RAM). With 2.6.22.4-65.fc7 and the kernel option hpet=disable both suspend to RAM and Disk work fine for me (Acer Aspire 5610, HWID:ebf36068-3809-426c-ade0-d0c531b5b402).
