If this is the bug I think it is¹, this might fix it for now: gconftool-2 -s /desktop/gnome/sound/enable_esd -t bool false ¹ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=238680 -- ~sertaç -- fedora-test-list mailing list fedora-test-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-test-list Maybe that was it Sertaç. I got into GNOME the last part of the day, and apparently things were back to normal. I was desperately trying to get the sound working and I might have accidently enabled the esd sound on GNOME. I am learning also KDE uses arts. I hope that GNOME works again, I got it back and I hope all is well. I did the following $ rm -rf .gconf/ $ rm -rf .gconfd/ $ rm -rf .gnome/ $ rm -rf .gnome2/ $ rm -rf .gnome2_private/ $ rm -rf qt* ????/ I tried just for the sake of it as I was leaving work to log back in and it worked. I got the panels, the clock, etc. Hopefully tomorrow all is well again. Thanks for replying to the message.
