mmm, your probably correct.
My FC6 machine (Nvidia) is using the picture slideshow screensaver.
My FC7 (Intel 950) box has none, just what ever blanks the screen
after 10-15 minutes.
The FC7 box was a fresh install of test 4, just just 2 days ago
started the freezing routine.

Probably not the same thing, but just possibly related is a freeze
