Are long options bad? (rpm packaging)

Hi,

I notice that the gThumb rpms are patched to remove mention of the -s and -f command line options in the man page. Instead, only the long versions (--slideshow and --fullscreen) are mentioned.

Why? Is this a fedora packaging policy?
