Have similar issue on my X60.
Manually running 'ifdown eth0; ifup eth0' (replace eth0 with
appropriate) seems to make dhcp work.
I seem to be having lockup/NMI problems with e1000 though on last 2
kernels. Goes away if I use the wireless (ipw3945) interface.
I can't even make it to work manually, fdown eth0; ifup eth0.
