warning - gtk2 from 20070117 really breaks gnome panel

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

If you will install gtk2-2.10.8-1.fc7 then you are likely to see
something like either
*** glibc detected *** gnome-panel: free(): invalid next size
(normal): 0x0000000000b2e110 ***
or
*** glibc detected *** gnome-panel: double free or corruption
(!prev): 0x0000000000b38110 ***
and gnome-panel bombs. Makes hard to leave a session and if you
are unlucky you may be left with _two_ gnome-panels among saved
clients; which makes for an "interesting" startup next time. :-)

There is already
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=223003 with an
annotation "Fixed in gtk2-2.10.8-2.fc7" but for now your best bet is
not to update gtk2 or back off to gtk2-2.10.7-2.fc7.
