You are much further than me if you can attempt to open any URL at
all.  On my rawhide installation, no custom kernels,
firefox-2.0.0.1-2.fc7 segfaults immediately on startup.  See

for a rather lengthy trace from gdb.

This is also x86_64 but SK8V Asus with a single processor.

I installed the debuginfo packages for firefox and pango and generated a backtrace for the bz.
