Fedora Test Update Notification
FEDORA-2006-1493
2006-12-21
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Product : Fedora Core 6
Name : kernel
Version : 2.6.18
Release : 1.2869.fc6
Summary : The Linux kernel (the core of the Linux operating system)
Description :
The kernel package contains the Linux kernel (vmlinuz), the core of any
Linux operating system. The kernel handles the basic functions
of the operating system: memory allocation, process allocation, device
input and output, etc.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:

The previous kernel update introduced a flaw which prevented
squashfs from getting built. As this prevents creation of
images for projects like Fedora Unity, and the Fedora LiveCD
effort, this update corrects this oversight.

For completeness, it updates to the final 2.6.18.6, though
no changes were made since 2.6.18.6rc2 on which the previous
update was based.
