Hi, Not exactly sure what's broken here, so some help would be appreciated. Following the breakage in rawhide when we moved to Python2.5, I took the opportunity to clean things up on my box. I think I've removed something which has killed all sound on my system. When I fire up xmms, it refuses to play any audio at all - it comes up with Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libgail.so": libgail.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module "libatk-bridge.so": libatk-bridge.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory XS[src/xmms-sid.c:xs_init:216]: xs_init() XS[src/xs_config.c:xs_init_configuration:164]: initializing configuration ... XS[src/xmms-sid.c:xs_stop:584]: STOP_REQ XS[src/xmms-sid.c:xs_close:248]: shutdown finished. I have at-spi/at-spi-devel and gail/libgail both installed, so am at a loss as to why xmms should complain it can't find the modules it claims aren't there. When I do try to play something via xmms, I get an error box saying I need to "check that your soundcard is correctly configured, you have the correct output plugin selected, no other program is blocking the soundcard". I have no other audio software running. When I run sys-conf-soundcard, it identifies my Audigy sound card. I'm running the 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6 kernel (rawhide). My modprobe.conf file looks like this alias eth0 skge alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx alias scsi_hostadapter2 sata_nv alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1 #alias wlan0 prism_usb options snd-card-0 index=0 options snd-emu10k1 index=0 remove snd-emu10k1 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 0 >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-emu10k1 options snd-intel8x0 index=1 remove snd-intel8x0 { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 1 >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-intel8x0 which worked fine. Has anyone any ideas of what is borked? I could do with having some sound in here! TTFN Paul -- Sie kn mich aufreizen und wirklich heimachen!
