I have just tested this, in relation to bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=213346 The machine doesn't crash now, but the X server fails to start, the same problem I saw with the early BIOS versions on the OptiPlex GX270. Here's the relevant section of the Xserver log: (EE) I810(0): No Video BIOS modes for chosen depth. Backtrace: 0: /usr/bin/Xorg(xf86SigHandler+0x81) [0x80d4cc1] 1: [0xd95420] 2: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/i810_drv.so [0x7e603a] 3: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/i810_drv.so [0x7ebd79] 4: /usr/bin/Xorg(InitOutput+0x9c1) [0x80a1cb1] 5: /usr/bin/Xorg(main+0x276) [0x806f856] 6: /lib/i686/nosegneg/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xdc) [0xba1f2c] 7: /usr/bin/Xorg(FontFileCompleteXLFD+0x1e9) [0x806eda1] Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting I shall attach the full log to the bugzilla entry.
