Hi
I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 with a GeForce 7900GS. The FC6 test4
(pre-release) is full update on Oct 12.
Kernel is 2.6.18.1-2759 and GeForce driver v1.0.9625 from NVidia.
I can't start AIGLX Desktop effects. Instead I got "Desktop effects
could not be enabled".
nvidia hardware is not supported by AIGLX currently.
The nouveau drivers aren't mature enough for inclusion either
unfortunately.
I believe you are wrong.
9625 include GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap required to run AiGLX.

Not to mention that even the Fedora AIGLX wiki page has been updated to
reflect this:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/RenderingProject/aiglx
The being said, the 9625 driver is beta and there are lot's of bug
reports via the nvnew forums regarding various behaviors and the ability
or inability to get AIGLX to work for some. Some are indeed using it
successfully and there are various pages on the web, including the
following:
http://www.illawarra.org/linux/index.php?id=howto2
http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=125275&page=1&pp=15
to get AIGLX running on FC5/FC6.
To the OP, your best bet on this is to review and if needed, post on the
nvnews Linux forum:

One of the keys is to properly configure your xorg.conf to enable the
requisite functionality. There are examples on the above links,
including the specific thread that Gilboa references.
