No, the CDROM drive is fine; it works under windows. Okay, I have made some progress. I was able to bootup in single usermode from the "grub>" prompt but I can't change my root passwd. Here is the story: ============================================================== sh-3.1# passwd Changing password for user root. passwd: Authentication token manipulation error sh-3.1# ============================================================== I can't login as root which means I can't correct the grub installation. PS: I passed in selinux=0 after the kernel line in grub. What else could this be?
