Why does rpmq chew CPU time forever after yum update?

Hi,

After I run yum update, I see rpmq running and running and gobbling
CPU cycles all the while. What's up with that? Should I just reboot,
or should I let rpmq complete whatever it is doing first?

Thanks,
        Miles
