You might try avoiding DHCP. For example, if you are using
a consumer-grade router/firewall/DHCPserver, then specify
an address in its range that you know is unused, such as
192.168.0.99 (perhaps). You will have to know the IPv4
of your DNS servers. Also avoid IPv6 by uisng
"boot: linux askmethod noipv6" or similar.
I doubt this is a dhcp issue since I was able to upgrade from FC4
to FC6t1 using the existing nfs and dhcp server. The problem is that the
network interface was no longer found once I booted the machine. I was
hoping to avoid having to fix the network card issue by upgrading/installing
rawhide. It is tough to install new drivers, etc. when the network interface
is hosed. :-(
