after updating yum and installing the new yum-updatesd package,
starting yum-updatesd service errors with:
"yum-updatesd dead but subsys locked" and the process closes.

I had this too, restarting the yum-updatesd service cured it for me.
What is curious is that the problem appear at the very first use (have
just made a fresh install !), and about each time after ... :-/
