--------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora Test Update Notification FEDORA-2006-704 2006-06-13 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Product : Fedora Core 5 Name : lam Version : 7.1.2 Release : 1.fc5 Summary : The LAM (Local Area Multicomputer) programming environment. Description : LAM (Local Area Multicomputer) is an Message-Passing Interface (MPI) programming environment and development system for heterogeneous computers on a network. With LAM/MPI, a dedicated cluster or an existing network computing infrastructure can act as one parallel computer to solve one problem. LAM/MPI is considered to be "cluster friendly" because it offers daemon-based process startup/control as well as fast client-to-client message passing protocols. LAM/MPI can use TCP/IP and/or shared memory for message passing (different RPMs are supplied for this -- see the main LAM website at http://www.mpi.nd.edu/lam/ for details).< LAM features a full implementation of MPI version 1 (with the exception that LAM does not support cancelling of sends), and much of version 2. Compliant applications are source code portable between LAM and any other implementation of MPI. In addition to meeting the standard, LAM/MPI offers extensive monitoring capabilities to support debugging. Monitoring happens on two levels: On one level, LAM/MPI has the hooks to allow a snapshot of a process and message status to be taken at any time during an application run. The status includes all aspects of synchronization plus datatype map/signature, communicator group membership and message contents (see the XMPI application on the main LAM website). On the second level, the MPI library can produce a cumulative record of communication, which can be visualized either at runtime or post-mortem. --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Mon Jun 12 2006 Jason Vas Dias<jvdias@xxxxxxxxxx> - 2:7.1.2-1.fc6 - Upgrade to upstream version 7.1.2 - fix bug 191433 - Split into -libs and -devel packages ( apply .spec file patch from Orion Poplawski <orion@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> ) - fix bug 194747 - fix BuildRequires for mock --------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be downloaded from: http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/5/ 39f4a5deb039a2dc6e1284eefc5dd398ecdc715f SRPMS/lam-7.1.2-1.fc5.src.rpm 39f4a5deb039a2dc6e1284eefc5dd398ecdc715f noarch/lam-7.1.2-1.fc5.src.rpm e609f2a005126df401f72288221e7c0823058bbd ppc/debug/lam-debuginfo-7.1.2-1.fc5.ppc.rpm c2a5f7322c056e59ed43cb5f151e6b0979a940ea ppc/lam-libs-7.1.2-1.fc5.ppc.rpm 7907b717d058063448214057beff75d7998b805c ppc/lam-devel-7.1.2-1.fc5.ppc.rpm 324737a63ea6958d4bac379c5c031b69879c4837 ppc/lam-7.1.2-1.fc5.ppc.rpm 9e16ee0d0ed8e1e9cdadfd4d3c7eb2a7d556de2f x86_64/lam-devel-7.1.2-1.fc5.x86_64.rpm 663663b8d595f2737f64a365d673135210be5af2 x86_64/debug/lam-debuginfo-7.1.2-1.fc5.x86_64.rpm 5c350c71d8e29d67990533e5335d44a8d00d7e2e x86_64/lam-7.1.2-1.fc5.x86_64.rpm 8ffb67813ee47ff38cd6771304ccda63ba558916 x86_64/lam-libs-7.1.2-1.fc5.x86_64.rpm ebbe9d2c4d079dacd3da266389d89ab6973360da i386/debug/lam-debuginfo-7.1.2-1.fc5.i386.rpm f081f87ba6c96754004b54136301b0144248911b i386/lam-libs-7.1.2-1.fc5.i386.rpm 36075a7639c82005c207bfba9957fd60b30ea049 i386/lam-7.1.2-1.fc5.i386.rpm 3015418701a0cd74f32d2edba4035f8a217963be i386/lam-devel-7.1.2-1.fc5.i386.rpm This update can be installed with the 'yum' update program.
