You need uhci and ohci for old usb storages.
About the other modules : i dont know. I had to add all of them to make
it work. I first try to make it work with the parropriate doc
(http://simonf.com/usb/#fc3), with accommodations.
But it always failed.
But i am just an end-user ... and know very few things

Before I attempt this. Would it be wiser to just use uname -r to point
to the modules already present in the kernels? Why would one need to
copy modules over? What is needed to be contained within the initrd
image and how would it be possible for this behavior to
self-administrate itself with each kernel upgrade?
