What version of mkinitrd was installed when you installed the kernel?
What does /etc/fstab look like?
What does 'mkinitrd -v -f /boot/initrd-2.6.15-1.1948.img 2.6.15-1.1948'
say?
mkinitrd version when the kernel was install was 5.0.29
