Hello, I am running the latest rawhide as of 02/20/06 (today) and I just got a hold of a Kingston compact flash -> pcmcia adapter. I put in a card and inserted it. I got a popup notification with "You are not priviledged to mount the volumn 'some name'" A tail of var log messages shows: Feb 20 08:33:05 localhost kernel: pccard: PCMCIA card inserted into slot 1 Feb 20 08:33:05 localhost kernel: pcmcia: registering new device pcmcia1.0 Feb 20 08:33:05 localhost kernel: hde: Hitachi ATA Card, CFA DISK drive Feb 20 08:33:06 localhost kernel: ide2 at 0x3100-0x3107,0x310e on irq 3 Feb 20 08:33:06 localhost kernel: hde: max request size: 128KiB Feb 20 08:33:06 localhost kernel: hde: 125184 sectors (64 MB) w/1KiB Cache, CHS=978/4/32 Feb 20 08:33:06 localhost kernel: hde: hde1 Feb 20 08:33:06 localhost kernel: ide-cs: hde: Vcc = 3.3, Vpp = 0.0 As root, I can mount /dev/hde1, so that works, but the hal seems to not get the correct privileges. Is this a bug? Or feature? Thanks. -- Brian Millett - [ Laurel Takeshima (to G'Kar), "The Gathering"] "If it makes you feel any better, I can send them a fruit basket."
