I've been having problems with the latest FC5 (rawhide) and getting my
2nd head to work. There is a bug filed at x.org

There was a suggestion to try:
Option "ColorTiling" "off"
And sure enough it started working. However from what I'm told it will
not allow Xinerama to work, you will have to use MergedFB if you want
"Spanning Desktops". I can confirm this which works for me with:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY
[Radeon 7000/VE]
