If I type garbage at the Linux Install Prompt: xx@#KJB$JB$:>RJBW:UJ;ojbdsvlvh zldfiuszb fp8sad; Like that -- the install fails to do anything (as it should) -- but this seems to fix bad installation situations where the install kernel panics and the machine has to be switched off to actually restart the install process.
