Hi Paul, Have you submitted a bug report? I am seeing exactly the same behavior (apps started from gnome-terminal are placed behind the gnome-terminal window I started the program from). By the way, this looks like a problem that needs fixing upstream, because I just noticed this happening on my Ubuntu Dapper installation (Dapper+updates is to Ubuntu as FC5t2+updates is to Fedora Core).
