discussions there.  One would hope that we will not see that nasty
bug again, wouldn't we?  Unfortunately it is back.  See also

This is actually a basic security issue and it has also other ugly
ramifications.

There is autofs if you want such automatic mounts for partitions
on fixed disks and it does much better job with that.

To make things more "interesting" on my test system (x86_64)
removable media do not mount at all.
