You can't mix code with CDDL and GPL licenses. So, because the Linux
kernel is GPL and the ClosedSolaris bits are CDDL, they will never be
merged and form Voltron.

The same would be true for any kernel code licensed MPL/PHP/Apache. Not
that I know of anyone who has done that, because it would make it
intentionally incompatible. :)
