Not only that, but on some video cards (trident cyberblade) the screen
flickers on and off badly.
Yep, I've also experienced what seems to be resolution problems, or
driver problems with I guess the monitor since the updates/changes.
X no longer works for me after the upgrade: screen goes blank after it
tries to start. I also get random kernel panics. I was warned though ;-)
