Java works for me in rawhide.
I use the jpackage.org nosrc.rpm to create java rpm's of Sun's j2sdk
1.5.0
Install them - and it just works. On x86 anyway.

I really recommend using jpackage.org for anything Java in Fedora. With
rare exceptions, it just plain works.
