That should make a big enough difference that it should 'just work'. That's probably the various debugging code thats present right now. In a few days, I'm going to turn it off, and leave it run for a few builds with it off so we can get some performance measurements. I installed FC4T1 under an M$ virtual machine just fine yesterday. It worked 'out of the box'.
