Since I have never seen ANY of the problems mentioned, I have to assume the problem is with the KVM switch itself. I had an old 'rotary switch' KVM, and indeed you had to have it switched to the booting machine. I replaced it with a ConnectGear (electronic) KVM and all the problems went away... I have to assume the electronic KVM makes it 'look' to the OS as if there is a keyboard/mouse there on all 4 ports, independent of which one you are switched to. -- Reg.Clemens reg@xxxxxxx
