Errmmmm ... Evolution is *part* of GNOME. It became part of the core
GNOME desktop with Evolution 2.0 and GNOME 2.8. You can't ship GNOME
without Evolution.
Yes you can.
An application being "part of gnome" does not require its inclusion in
a distribution. That's what is so great about free (as in speech)
software.
