The firmware location changed from FC2 to FC3. It's now in /lib/firmware.
You can check /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent (FIRMWARE) to make sure. I had the
same problem at first when I upgraded to FC3 from FC2 (of course still other
problems with the prism54 but that's another thread)
