To change the default environment to KDE, as root, edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop to contain only the following line, including the quote marks: DESKTOP="KDE" ie: su kwrite /etc/sysconfig/desktop Change DESKTOP=”GNOME” to DESKTOP=”KDE” Save the file.
