Also, whenever I change my profile it changes my hostname to "localhost"
which with my setup means all email sent to me is rejected.
(I'm using uucp.)

Actually, i find the screens in System Settings=>Network
and Network Tools=>Network Device Control rather confusing.
It is not clear (to me) what belongs to the Profiles
and what belongs to the logical device(s).
