Had somewhat similar problems with udev-038 (couldn't load firmware), but
this problem is with udev-039. (also tested with hal-0.4.0-4 and 2.6.8
kernel)
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -q hal udev
hal-0.4.0-5
udev-039-3
