Do > backups first. > > Richard There is definitely a file shimx64-fedora.efi in /boot/efi/EFI/fedora namely "1204496 Oct 2 2018 shimx64-fedora.efi". next to the "946712 Jul 7 2022 shimx64.efi" from the Fed38 install. It could be from one of the previous Fedora installs (even though I only do fresh installs) This is a 4 yr old machine that every 6 months has a fresh Fedora installation. I don't know what the installation does with the previous /boot/efi/EFI/fedora entries. I checked with a laptop that previously only had Fed 37 installed and indeed there is no 'shimx64-fedora.efi' there. So I suspect I can safely remove it. If the installer should remove obsolete entries it might be worth checking by QA what happens.
