There is definitely a file shimx64-fedora.efi in
/boot/efi/EFI/fedora namely "1204496 Oct 2 2018 shimx64-fedora.efi".
next to the "946712 Jul 7 2022 shimx64.efi" from the Fed38 install.
It could be from one of the previous Fedora installs (even though
I only do fresh installs) This is a 4 yr old machine that every
6 months has a fresh Fedora installation.
I don't know what the installation does with the previous
/boot/efi/EFI/fedora entries.
I checked with a laptop that previously only had Fed 37 installed
and indeed there is no 'shimx64-fedora.efi' there.
So I suspect I can safely remove it.

If the installer should remove obsolete entries it might be
worth checking by QA what happens.
