To get rc.local running you used to be able to put the file in /etc/rc.d and then reboot.
This has worked for quite some time but does not any more. This situation has been happening now for several months. Am I missing something?
See the output of "systemctl status rc-local.service", you'll see whether the service is enabled and a possible error if there was some.
