Heads up: no characters visible on console in Rawhide - bug in kbd-2.4.0-3.fc35 (Adam Williamson)

Adam,

I just rebooted my fc35 (x86_64) system after installing this rpm and it's dependency kbd-misc-2.4.0-2.fc34.noarch.rpm.

I'm running this system with nomodeset present in the boot command line. During a typical boot the messages spew out and then there's a very short pause when a font size change (and some other magic) happens if nomodeset is present. At this point in time during my test boot, the screen reverted to invisible text... after a couple of screens, the text re-appeared and the boot progressed as "normal" up to the "invitation to login" (running this system with multi-user.target set. From then on, text appeared as usual.

I'm going to try a boot without nomodeset.

Test boot completed with the same behavior as above.

Regards,

George...

It looks like, in openQA and manual VM testing at least, since kbd-
2.4.0-3.fc35 landed in Rawhide, all characters are invisible at the
console. They're actually there, you just can't seem them. To work
around this, downgrade to kbd-2.4.0-2.fc34 from F34. For more info see
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1953782 .
