The firewall applet bug I originally posted about a year ago hasn't received much attention except for the Fedora version being updated. At this point the bug report is a bit messy. Today I decided to look around a bit and see if I could find some more information. The basic problem is that it doesn't show up on the screen though System Monitor shows the process running and it doesn't cause any Abrt errors. Today I poked around in the logs a bit and found the following: Jan 9 07:36:56 firewall-applet: QObject::connect: No such signal QPlatformNativeInterface::systemTrayWindowChanged(QScreen*) Jan 9 07:36:56 firewall-applet: QObject::connect: No such signal QPlatformNativeInterface::systemTrayWindowChanged(QScreen*) Jan 9 07:36:54 firewall-applet: "/proc/1989/root" Jan 9 07:36:53 firewall-applet: QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread My question is: Should I close this bug and write a new one with this new information, or just add this to the existing bug. I'm wondering if this bug is reported against the correct Fedora component/package/module. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1791860 The bug is still present in fully updated F33 Workstation.
I don't have an opinion about if a new BZ needs to be opened. I just wanted to note that the applet fails to show up in both Xorg and Wayland sessions. With Wayland... [egreshko@f33g ~]$ firewall-applet QSocketNotifier: Can only be used with threads started with QThread "/proc/6474/root" QObject::connect: No such signal QPlatformNativeInterface::systemTrayWindowChanged(QScreen*) With Xorg [egreshko@f33g ~]$ firewall-applet "/proc/4895/root" So, it seems to me, the Q* messages may not be relevant. --- The key to getting good answers is to ask good questions. _______________________________________________ test mailing list -- test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to test-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
