Hey folks! We're looking for data on a possible Fedora 31 bug with X sessions on Intel graphics adapters: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1755733 To check if your system has an Intel adapter, do this: lspci -nn | grep VGA if the output has "Intel" and "8086" in it...you probably have an Intel graphics adapter, and you could help us with testing. What we need is pretty simple. Grab a recent Fedora 31 Workstation live image, like this one: https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/branched/Fedora-31-20190930.n.1/compose/Workstation/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-31-20190930.n.1.iso Boot it on the test system (write it to USB or a DVD, doesn't matter which), then - assuming it boots successfully to the live desktop, do this: 1. Open a terminal 2. Run 'passwd' and set a password 3. Log out (click the 'power' icon at top right, then 'Live System User', then 'Log Out', then 'Log Out' again) 4. At the login screen, click 'Live System User' 5. Click the little cog icon next to 'Sign In' 6. Select 'GNOME on Xorg' 7. Enter the password you set at step 2, and hit enter to log in 8. Wait and see if the GNOME session starts successfully Please report back whether you get a successful login or not after step 8. Please also include the output of the 'lspci -nn | grep VGA' command. If you already have Fedora 31 Workstation installed on your system, you don't need to test with a live image - you can just follow steps 4 to 8, but with your regular user account and password.
