I'm not sure where the change you refer to by Hans is, because the
package version has not changed since 2015 (1.3.8) and I don't see a
downstream build by Hans recently. It last built successfully on 2018-
03-07 and has failed to build three times since (for the F29, F30 and
F31 mass rebuilds). Hans, is this something you care about enough to
unretire or anything?

Yeah, I've seen it too. I'll try and remember to poke the GNOME folks
to apply the merge request.
