Bug-by-bug detail
=============

Accepted blockers
-----------------
1. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1691909 - gdm - NEW
gdm/X start fails on 'nomodeset' UEFI boot on multiple bare metal
systems: "Cannot run in framebuffer mode. Please specify busIDs for
all framebuffer devices"

All UEFI hardware appears to show this behavior. No clear cause or
resolution is noted yet.

2. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1690429 - gnome-shell - NEW
sometimes icon not showing for eg firefox in gnome-shell overview dash

Issue fixed upstream. New builds are in testing repository.

3. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1688462 - libdnf - POST
System upgrades involving modular content require explicit
--setopt=module_platform_id to work correctly

Updated fedora-release packages are pushed, which partially address
the issue. It remains unclear what further work is needed for libdnf
and for dependent packages (e.g. gnome-software).

Proposed blockers
-----------------
1. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1697591 - xorg-x11-server - NEW
modesetting driver on some Intel hardware fails to start after kernel
4.20.13 update

Broken by a change in upstream kernel. Fedora kernel team has carried
a reversion patch for F28 and F29, but does not want to maintain it
indefinitely and upstream indicates they won’t revert. ajax submitted
patches upstream
(https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/merge_requests/36) that
are waiting for review. We may have to carry the patches until
upstream accepts.

2. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1701279 - appstream-data - ON_QA
Update appstream-data after final freeze

This is a built-in FESCo blocker. The update is in testing and needs
to be pushed to stable.

3. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1696270 - gnome-shell - ON_QA
alt+esc doesn't work anymore in 3.32

gnome-shell-3.32.0-3 (superseded by gnome-shell-3.32.1-1) has a
potential fix for this issue and is in the testing repo.

4. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=89216 - openssh - ASSIGNED
(DisallowRoot) - RFE: disallow root login via password using SSH

Consensus is that this does not violate any release criteria and
should be proposed through the Change process for Fedora 31.
