I thought I would tryout the F30 backgrounds. I got the
f30-backgrounds-30.0.0.tar.xz file and extracted the
f30-backgrounds-30.0.0 folder.
Then I found the /usr/share/backgrounds folder on my F30 test system. I
saw an f29 folder there, but decided not to change that but instead made
a new f30 folder in the /usr/share/backgrounds folder on the f30 system.
The default folder from the down load was copied into the new f30 folder
on the f30 system.
Then I copied the remaining items (folders with files and single files
as received in the download to the /usr/share/backgrounds folder on the
f30 system. After that I rebooted the f30 system. When the reboot was
complete, I opened g-c-c and opened the backgrounds tab and clicked the
Background thumbnail. When the selection window popped up I selected
Wallpapers and scrolled through the available images. The new images
were not available.
Somehow I knew it couldn't be that simple. Is it complicated enough that
the new backgrounds really need to be installed using DNF somehow, or
could I do something to make it work?
Have a Great Day!
