Call for testing - auto-suspend on Live Media

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,
as you probably know, beginning with Fedora Workstation 28, auto-suspend will be enabled by default. This affects also live media.

In our testing, some configurations were unable to resume after being suspended from live media[0]. I'd like to ask you to do some more testing, so we'll have more data from different hardware combinations about how many desktops are not able to resume properly.

You can change suspend timer value (default is 20 minutes) to something lower for easier testing:
dconf write /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/power/sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 10

(the number at the end is how many seconds of idling is required to trigger suspend)

You can use Beta iso for testing, available here: https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/28/Fedora-28-20180328.1/compose/Workstation/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-28_Beta-1.3.iso

You can post results here.

Thanks!
