Extensions have to have their metadata updated to indicate if they
support a particular version. You can test whether it works by editing 
~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/<extension>/metadata.json and
adding the version of gnome-shell you're running to it, then
restarting gnome-shell. (You can restart gnome-shell without logging
out by doing alt-F2 and typing 'r' and pressing enter).

If dash-to-dock works properly, you should let upstream know so they
can update it.
