Strong feelings and fifty cents will buy you a cup of coffee. ;) What we can block releases on is not a question of what anyone 'strongly feels' but what we have the resources to commit to. Xfce and MATE are both mostly maintained by a single person and we don't have the extent of upstream links we have with GNOME and KDE.
