I installed Fedora 21 Beta TC3 (used netinstall for server) on HP DC5850 with virtualiation software (KVM). The processor is "AMD Athlon(tm) Dual Core Processor 5200B" and virtualiation is enabled in BIOS. The problem is that the kernel does not start module kvm_amd as it should. From /proc/cpuinfo I get: egrep '(vmx|svm)' --color=always /proc/cpuinfo flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow rep_good nopl extd_apicid pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy 3dnowprefetch lbrv -------------------^^^ flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow rep_good nopl extd_apicid pni cx16 lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy 3dnowprefetch lbrv -------------------^^^ Which show that flag svm is enabled in the CPU. This seems to be an old bugg repported in bub "978608 - Cannot load kvm_amd module - (says disabled by bios), but svm exposed by the hardware/enabled in bios" [1] from 2013 in kernel 3.8.x an even 3.10. It was closed 2013-11-27 11:03:27 EST, Should I make a new or open the old one since the problem is still there?
