Fwd: [Test-Announce] Fedora 21 Beta Test Compose 3 (TC3) Available Now!

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi
Installation of Fedora 21 Beta Test Compose 3 (TC3) not via USB Flash Drive but with DVD was possible in BIOS Legacy mode (the only mode where running Linux on this Laptop is possible). In this configuration (TC3) it is possible to run Live Builds on USB Flash Drives also in Legacy mode. The strange behaviour of TC2 disappeared in TC3. I hope I didn't bother You with this thread.
Kind Regards

Kind Regards

Something, which I don't understand. My system is an Acer E 15 E5-571G Laptop, Win 8.1. F21 is on an external PATA Disk connected via USB. So far F21 Alpha and Beta worked fine.
The external disk (F21) I can only run with BIOS mode set to Legacy. Win 8.1 I can only run in BIOS mode UEFI. With F21 Beta TC3, I created the live build -as I did with the previous builds- in Legacy mode. But trying to boot says "Failed to load ldlinux.c32". A download of F21 Beta TC3 with Win 8.1 (UEFI mode) and creating a live media on the same stick with the Fedora USB Live Creator in Windows is successful and I can boot TC3 also successfully. Previously I could boot live media in UEFI and in Legacy mode, with TC3 only in UEFI mode. Is there any idea, what is happening?
Kind Regards

There is a problem and I don't know if it is my fault or not.
I have downloaded
Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21_Beta-TC3.iso 2014-10-10 01:53 1.3G

built with the Fedora Live usb creator a loadable iso on a stick. But I can not load this live image. This procedure I did 2 times, with the same bad result.
I did the same as I did with the previous Alpha and Beta builds, where I had no problems. Does anyone have a similar problem with TC3?

As per the Fedora 21 schedule [1], Fedora 21 Beta Test Compose 3 (TC3)
is now available for testing. Content information, including changes,
can be found at https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/6010#comment:4 .
Please see the following pages for download links (including delta ISOs)
and testing instructions. Normally dl.fedoraproject.org should provide
the fastest download, but download-ib01.fedoraproject.org is available
as a mirror (with an approximately 1 hour lag) in case of trouble. To
use it, just replace "dl" with "download-ib01" in the download URL.

Server:

The Summary page:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Current_Summary

combines the result tables from all the pages, without the instructions.

Ideally, all Alpha and Beta priority test cases for each of these test
pages [2] should pass in order to meet the Beta Release Criteria [3].
Help is available on #fedora-qa on irc.freenode.net [4], or on the test
list [5].
