I have a similar problem in rawhide with 3.15 kernels not allowing the
desktop to load. 3.14 kernels are fine. However my graphics card is:
$ lspci | grep -i vga
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
[AMD/ATI] RV630 PRO [Radeon HD 2600 PRO]

In another thread there is a suggestion to remove all plymouth modules
which I haven't tried.
