look at  https://communities.vmware.com/message/2335957 and http://ping8888.com/2013/12/13/vmware-modules-kernel-3-13/ for
instructions on patching this version of VMware for kernel 3.13.  If you have problems make sure you read *ALL* of the posts from
the communities site as there are instructions on how to fix the patching issue if you have it.
